Our years of experience in education have taught us many things, things that we feel are vitally important to the holistic development of the child. The first and probably by far the most important concept is to imbue in each child the desire to learn by making the learning process fun. In the very early stages of childhood development, many studies have shown that learning and having fun are considered to be the same and that pleasurable activities will set the stage for educational growth as the child progresses in life experiences. Laying a solid foundation very early in life is the basis for the quantity and quality of knowledge to be absorbed by the precious souls entrusted to us as parents, educators, and even basic care givers; from birth, children are like little sponges, absorbing and assimilating stimuli and information constantly. To encourage the reception and retention of enlightenment, The Kinder Garden School will create a fun, vibrant climate with music, colors, sounds, tactile activities, and healthy play, critical to early progress.
In setting the tone for enrichment and enhancement of the young mind, it is imperative that learning to learn is embraced. This idea cannot be stressed too heavily. At this juncture in a child's very early months and years, studies have shown that there is a finite window in which the brain must be "hard wired"; the child must learn how to learn. It is our responsibility to work with parents and the child to ensure that a firm foundation for future learning is laid, that physical, social, and intellectual advancement is eagerly sought and much enjoyed.
Each and every child is a unique miracle of nature, as special and individual as clouds and snowflakes, but all members of the human family. We will acknowledge and respect the singular character of each child, while gently guiding each child in a general direction toward fun and fulfillment, gradually reinforcing the sameness in all of us. The Kinder Garden School will reach into the child to evaluate special skills of music, imagination, physical, and other abilities, allowing personality and spirit to germinate in a loving, caring way. It is our fervent, sacred duty to work hand in hand with parent and child to build further structure upon the solid foundation we will establish, and enhance the gifts each child holds within. Our successful contribution to the whole child can only work with active and enthusiastic parental involvement; each child is a work in progress, a small yet precious flower. The Kinder Garden School will lovingly care and cultivate each child as a flower in our Garden, to realize as fully as possible the potential that resides in each and every one.
